I am in the final playability testing phase for my sandbox level Adventure III.
I should have it ready in the next few days to upload into the Explore section
This will create the Adventure trilogy
p.s. I might make more Adventure games in the future

Not a bad idea, @warrior !

Adventure III is now in the Explore section !
Hope you enjoy this sandbox game and give me your feedback.

I couldn't get past the first level. I got really far into it, then I died, and then all of the collectables I spent what felt like 5 minutes collecting and a bit of trial and error, then I basically got sent back to the beginning, and felt absolutely no desire to keep going. It was fun while it lasted, and all I can say for now is that the level design was awfully creative and inventive.
-
As it is a sandbox there is only 1 level.
I have placed several checkpoints around the level so keep an eye out for those.
Also in some "?" containers you can get items that refill your HP, look for them also.
-
I only saw 1 checkpoint as far as I went.
-
I died and then I lost all of the collectables and had to do it from the beginning

@warrior I don't get the reference, as I have never played Banjo Kazooie, but that still made me laugh.

@Christian Game Maker (CGM) the reference is that the 64 version has pretty much the problem I quoted: Each world has 100 notes to collect, but the notecount is saved only when reaching 100, meaning you have to collect everything again if you die.
Btw you should play it, it did not aged super well but it's still a very cool game. You can dm me anytime if you want help to install it.

@warrior No thanks, I'll pass on Banjo Kazooie. Though it'd be cool to play it with high-end graphics, I'm sure.

I've just made an update to Adventure III
I have added extra save points, fixed some tile issues and some minor tweeks for playability.
Who will be first to complete this sandbox level, will you be the first ?
Give it a try

Epic, looks cool!

I don't recall how this level was like before, so take that in mind.
there are few spots where I would have done tiling differently (eg. pipe and teleport, bars aren't connected to the ceiling, ground edges around lava). but that's just a nitpick. overall, it's fine.
I'm not 100% sure on those checkpoints, either. in the green key area, I would put a checkpoint right after the player collects a key. on your first play-through, after you leave the pipe, you might not know what's over there and just grab the save point. if you don't already know this level and save it for later (when you actually own the key), the checkpoint is practically useless.
I did, however, enjoyed this sandbox quite a bit. the enemies were fairly placed without being pushovers. jumping on moving platform was fun. disappearing ones can be a little annoying, but you used them well. it's a sizable area but the directions are clear so I never got lost. I like the pipe shortcut in the middle of the stage, that's a nice addition.
overall, good level. 8)

ground edges around lava
Thanks for the comments. In the PB editor the lava displays correctly but when the sandbox is run you see the rendering glitches. I've tried many time with different combinations of tiles but so far not been successful. If you have a way to remove the glitch please let me know.

You have a good point. I will look into this and hope to fix it in a future update
Did you manage to complete the sandbox Gizgord. If so I can mark you down as the first player to do so !

no problem. it's annoying when the editor shows something else than when you actually play it, especially water and lava.
the ground tile was on wrong side (it should be a hard edge from the lava side, not the other way around). that won't work for you because you have only one space for ground. there is no variation of one-wide ground tile without grass.

if you can't really fix it, just leave it. as I said, it was just a nitpick and not a big deal.
