Okay, I've been using PB for over a year and a half. But, I wasn't around when PB co-op was released. To be honest, I haven't seen much in the way of improving it judging from observing, and reading the change log. So, why not simply improve the co-op? I mean, why not make a way for players to interact with each other? Like, ground pounding on each other for example. Like, if a player ground pounds on another, it wouldn't hurt the other player, but it would cause the other player to jump off to the side and play the hurt animation. Or, the same with other things. Just basic stuff. Another cool thing would be to add PVP. This was suggested... A long...long...long time ago. But I do think it would be cool to see added.
One last thing,
I don't know if this idea is even possible, (please respond to this Ting!) but, it would be totally awesome to add online gameplay. I don't have clue one how or if this idea is even plausible. (If it would be possible.) I mean, we have chatting already worked out with steam, but why not just take it a step further and do online gameplay? Wouldn't that be cool? I mean, we could select a game or sandbox level from explore, and push a button to see if there is anyone who would want to join you in playing it together in 2-player online. It checks, and for someone else looking in explore, a notification pops up saying that someone would like to be joined in a level or game. And if 2 people (it would also be nice to have more than just 2 people to be playing in PB) want to join together in a 2 player level, then they play online. And can chat via steam. Is this possible Ting?

I don't think player interactions would be better for co-op.
besides, you could technically play online with special software if you really wanted to.
-
Without Ting's imput?
-
I was going to type a post saying, "I see that Giz is typing a message." But, you beat me. I was too late...
-
Anyway Giz, what about that "special software"?

Anyway Giz, what about that "special software"?
for example Hamachi.
-
How would it work?
-
well, I didn't mean Hamachi (my bad) but imagine two players online emulating playing locally.
-
Oh! I can sort of see how that would make sense. That actually sounds like a good idea!
-
It seems to me as though (unless I'm misunderstanding) that you gave the wrong software name. Could you tell me what the correct software's name is? I'd be very interested in trying this out.
-
we've actually figured out something easier.
it's called Parsec, you can stream your game to friends/strangers and they can give their own input via mouse, keyboard or controller.
it's pretty simple and reliable, works pretty well. :)
-
Cool! Could you maybe explain the process? (Could we chat on steam today Giz, BTW?)
-
they have a pretty good website with instructions and a detailed Q&A.
https://parsecgaming.com/
all you really need is an account and the software (unless you want to use controllers, there's an additional driver to download).
and I can't chat today, sorry.
-
Gotcha. Thanks!
-
for example Hamachi.
I will NEVER use Hamachi.
NEVER
-
I've used Parsec before for certain things. It would work for online co-op with PB. I think I even tested it with PB before.
Biggest thing is you need good internet connection.
-
Not anymore! Ditch Parsec, and just use steam's brand new feature of which I forgot the name of. Antikore made a post about it Here: https://theplatformbuilder.com/forums/index.php?topic=1199.0

Nice! Good to know!

Don't use this with people you don't know

I agree, Warrior555. You confused me a minute ago. I thought you were a new member.
