Re: How to use custom overworld backgrounds. there aren't any. the naming can be a little bit misleading. overworld 'background' is just one 32x32 tile repeated, it's not a singular picture. if you upload your graphic as a background, you can't use it in overworlds.
however, tilesets and sprites are available. so, to build a city you'd have to place every tile one by one; roads, houses and what have you
