ground edges around lava
Thanks for the comments. In the PB editor the lava displays correctly but when the sandbox is run you see the rendering glitches. I've tried many time with different combinations of tiles but so far not been successful. If you have a way to remove the glitch please let me know.

the green key area, I would put a checkpoint right after the player collects a key. on your first play-through, after you leave the pipe, you might not know what's over there and just grab the save point. if you don't already know this level and save it for later (when you actually own the key), the checkpoint is practically useless.

You have a good point. I will look into this and hope to fix it in a future update

Did you manage to complete the sandbox Gizgord. If so I can mark you down as the first player to do so !

I've just made an update to Adventure III

I have added extra save points, fixed some tile issues and some minor tweeks for playability.

Who will be first to complete this sandbox level, will you be the first ?

Give it a try

As it is a sandbox there is only 1 level.

I have placed several checkpoints around the level so keep an eye out for those.
Also in some "?" containers you can get items that refill your HP, look for them also.

I am in the final playability testing phase for my sandbox level Adventure III.
I should have it ready in the next few days to upload into the Explore section

This will create the Adventure trilogy

p.s. I might make more Adventure games in the future

to clarify you went to the "Explore" section of Platform Builder
and ran the latest version of "Jet Set Manic Adventure"
chose "New Game"

so at this point did the game just return back to Title screen and didn't allow you to choose a new game slot

or

did it allow you to choose a new game slot and once chosen it returned to the Title screen

This is odd since I can run my game from the Explore section perfectly and have no issues. So I suspect that there might be other issues at play.

well I cant play it since creating new file redirects to title.

Did you uninstall old version and reinstall new version ?

Also delete all game save files (reinstalling game might do this automatically)

I finally managed to get my game to work.

For me, just setting the Start Location didn't work for me. I need to do an extra step....

Previously when I started the game I didn't choose my old game data but instead chose a new game slot but that didn't work.

What I found to work was having to delete all previous game data from all game slots and start from scratch.

So for users to get things to work, setup the Start Location and delete all your old game data

to setup Start Location
Menu -> Edit Game Screens -> Title Screen

then choose Settings -> Start Location

I've updated my game "Jet Set Manic Adventure" in the Explore section and it seems to be  working now. Could everyone give it a test to check it is all working and give me feedback if something is not running correctly

... so now off to create some new games ....  hooray !!!

there are bigger issues warrior.

If there is no fix for this then games are broken in normal mode.
This would severely impact new users to this product as they cannot create and run their games.

New users need time to learn the product so won't be jumping into advanced mode straight away. However this bug stops them from running any of their games.

@saiwong3268 when choosing the start world PB will ask the spawn id to use, you enter the one you defined for the start location you want to use. (spawn ids are explained section 7 of the ingame manual)
Welcome back btw, we're glad you're here. Did you seen my dm?

section 7 is for Advanced mode, but I've not used Advanced mode so never setup any IDs
how do I get things to work in "normal/starter" mode ?

I've come back to start creating some games

but when testing my old games I also find the message pop-up that there is no starting point.
My game does use an overworld. I tried setting my overworld (and even a standard level) as my starting point but the UI doesn't seem to allow me to do it.

How do I modify my game so it starts at the overworld screen?

Strange. When I published it, I couldn't find it either. I had assumed I fixed that when I updated it. But I talked with a friend and he was able to locate the game with no problems. The game runs fine in my own files, but I cannot access Explore! I tried clicking on check for updates, but it slowly increased in percentage, then later crashed. Now I can't access Explore. This is a problem.

I've found there is a difference between running the game from your own files and running the game in 'Explore'. So as a recommendation whenever you publish a game always test it in the 'Explore' section to make sure it plays correctly.

The 'Explore' section crashing whilst 'Checking for updates' also happened to me so I had no access to any 'Explore' games. However with help from TingThing I managed to recreate the 'Explore' section.

On your PC, in the run edit box type %LOCALAPPDATA% and press <enter>
This will bring up File Explorer.
Go to the PlatformBuilder folder
within this folder go into the Explore sub-folder
you should see a lot of game and sandbox sub-folders etc...

optional step: backup all these files elsewhere

then delete all these files. This should clean the Explore section and next time you run Platform Builder try 'Check for updates' again and you should be able to download the list successfully.

I also tried it today. I had the previous version installed, but it didn't show up in the Explore section.
I tried "Check for updates"
but this gave me error in downloading

I then tried "Check for updates" again and it managed to download the game list including
Crazy Shape Banzai.

I started the game and got to Main Menu. I chose New Game. The game tried to start but then
returned back to the Main Menu screen as War555MainsGanon stated.

I then tried uninstalling and reinstalling, but sadly got same results with game not running, but
only returning to Main Menu screen.

Try it yourself CGM and you will find that game does not start.

Suggestions / Re: Enemy = turn command

I don't understand it.

I think what he wants is something like:

//if enemy is moving left, then make it move right
if enemy 1 direction = left
{
enemy 1 = right
}

//if enemy is moving right, then make it move left
if enemy 1 direction = right
{
enemy 1 = left
}
