Suggestions / Settings for Checkpoint, Key/Door and Sign

Hi, a few ideas came up while working with the Platformbuilder.

1) Checkpoint
A few setting options for the checkpoint would be great. For example, the text “Checkpoint” on/off. I also think the animation (Loop, or Frame 1 to x and Stop) is a good idea. For example, if you want a flag to be raised for the Checkpoint.

2) Key and Door
A few setting options for this would be great. A display in the HUD whether and which key you have. And whether you have to unlock the door separately or whether you can go straight through if the key fits.

3 Sign
A possibility to also display an image on the sign. The idea behind it are games for children who can't read yet.

Working with Platform Builder / Key and Lock for Secrets

Hello me again :-[.

I'm so sorry, I tried to solve the problem for 2 days...

I want to unlock a secret path with a key and lock. As in the video Lesson 6 "Secret Exits"
I created the key and lock as an item myself.
Unlocking to secret works, but I can't say "with key".
Lock = blue
Key = blue
But the wombat walks past it with and without a key. Why?

!Addendum!

I changed "Pick up" to "Standard" for the lock
Now the wombat always goes into the lock, even without a key

I am very confused about the invisible block. I read in the forum that with the unactivated block, like Mario, fall through. But how i do set that up? I've tried all the settings now ???.

Working with Platform Builder / My character destroys the top block

Hi, me again :)

When my character jumps to a block from below, sometimes the top block gets destroyed. Actually often. Sometimes the character has to jump more often because the block doesn't do anything. I recorded it (video) and scaled it heavily to save memory.
Why does he do this?

Working with Platform Builder / Edit Overworld path

Hello, me again :)

I edit the Overworld. Unfortunately, the yellow path cannot be changed. Find the tilsets for the point, but I didn't find the way. Now I have made my own Tilest with the path. Just how do I tell the program that this is a way. My player always stops at the self-created cross (image). And one more thing, can the P1 be turned off?

Working with Platform Builder / Questions about checkpoint

Hello, me again ;D

I changed the checkpoint graphic. With a flag that's down.
If the character passes, it will be hoisted....ok, but the animation is repeated.
So, the flag is raised again and again. Can be change that? So, do the process only once and the fan stays up?

And the lettering "Checkpoint" is not necessary.
Can this be removed? I think, it makes sense that this is a chackpoint.

Hello, me again!
I have some questions, hope it's ok to post them in one topic.

1) Can the coin image be changed? For example, if I want to collect clover (or other stuff). I didn't find any tiles for that (Picture Money).
2) Is it possible to get a life for 100 coins (or clover in my case) and it starts again from 0? If yes, how?
3) Is it possible to change the HUD graphically. It doesn't fit my 8-bit style ;)
4) Is it possible to fix the scrolling in one direction? So only to the right (not up if i jump). And so with the character go over the screen, to get to a secret place like in Mario (warp zones)?
5) Jumping on the enemy kills him, but it also damages me (Character). Can this be changed? So just jumping on an enemy doesn't damage the character. Face to face damage is possible.
6) How can I turn off the automatic shot? A push on button is also one shot. Even if i stay longer.

Hello, I drew my own character. Not a male, but an animal like a wombat. The problem now is that the character is looking into a solid wall. Is it possible to change the collision frame? So that the head hits the wall and the character stops. Thanks

Working with Platform Builder / Change tiles, where are the templates?

Hello, I'm currently drawing a new tile. I have 2 questions that I can't solve.
1) Are there templates for the background image? Or what size would be best?
2) Where can I find the tiles for the animated water? Or how can I save the template and change it.
