Very much like the story concept about the hearts and the personalities of each of the demons.

It is almost like you are fighting the physical manifestations of human sins...

From the screenshots, it looks like it will be a fun and polished game.

I know art cannot be rushed and all that, but any idea when something playable will be out?

I'd like to try it once it's ready for sure  >:D

Thank you for the welcome, @Aeterna Games | Æ !

Yes the Platform Builder community has been very welcoming and helpful in my early stages using the editor. I will try to be active and contribute as much as time allows, since this program does deserve an active following IMO.

Resources / Re: Music

I can vouch for the quality of the music as I have used it in some of my other projects.

I have bought a few tracks for my first PB Pro project and the demo is up for review so hopefully soon you will be able play it and sample the awesome tracks used therein.

Introductions / A low level NinthNei has appeared!
« on: July 26, 2021, 09:08:48 PM »
Hello to all,

I am NinthNei and I have been tinkering with various game makers for around 10 years now. I discovered Platform Builder via a tip off from a good Steam buddy of mine who after seeing me sink 5 hours straight into it after the first day kindly gifted me the Pro version and here I am!

Some of you may have already chatted with me in the PB discord, but for those who don't know me yet, my strengths are making sprites and complex level designs, something I am looking to incorporate into my PB projects.

At the moment, I am somewhat of a pest, asking newbie questions here and there, but as I learn the program and become more adept, I will be willing to help out others with their projects too.

Thank you for reading and happy game making everyone!

Thanks for this, and for that extra information about the error. It would have been difficult for me without that.

Looks like when you have a custom pick up item which uses a custom sprite, and that item is in your inventory, the error happens when you change rooms.

I'm glad you found a workaround. Still, I'll make sure that error is resolved with the next update.

Thank you, that will be great! I am very new to the program but I have to say I love it so far.

Tutorials / Re: Simple Footstep Sounds Tutorial
« on: July 22, 2021, 03:06:16 PM »
Thank you for making this, just tried it and it works great!

Would it be at all possible to make a different sound that plays after and then loops like the first one?

For instance, your sequence would be Footstep 1 sound for the right foot and then you could have a Footstep 2 sound for the left foot and then repeat the whole sequence from the beginning?

Yes, thank you.

I can make lateral moving platforms OK, but can only ride these on the way down now.
The character still slips through the bottom if the platform is rising no matter what I try  :'(

I found the cause of the issue - it seems when the character has a 'pick up' item such as a gun or melee weapon on them and uses an event that relocates them like a door or a move command prompt.

So, after my level is finished I made an event to cause the player to drop the gun so that it loads the next area without errors.

I think it has some issues to do with displaying the HUD, not sure.

But I have found a reasonable workout around, for now...

I get this error display and the the game has to be aborted when changing area:

I get this when using an Invisible Cmd block with these command prompt: area = 2,2

Also it happens when I use a standard door block and set up a Spawn Point too.

Has anyone else experienced this and anyone know of a fix.

I am using custom sprites for the character too if that has any bearing on this.

It's like this. There are a few issues really, but I resolved some as you can see.

They say a picture is worth a thousand words... I hope a video is worth a million.

I think I've experienced that on actual Platform Builder. Anyways, UPE is no longer updated and TingThing is kinda inactive recently.

Whoops, I think I am in the wrong section.

To be clear, this is a question for Platform Builder.

EDIT: I found out it has to do with the bounding box bottom number with the Stand sprite and the Fall sprite.
I managed to get it so the character does not flick between animations and can move, but the player still falls through the platform after 1 second or so.

I am having problems with my custom sprite with regards to moving platforms.
When the player lands on the platform, it will quickly jump from the display fall/jump sprite to Stand I think very rapidly and will not allow for jump, just some horizontal movement but after 1 or 2 seconds, the character will then fall through the bottom of the platform.
My sprite has 2 fall frames and 1 jump frame, I wonder if more frames are needed?
Also my Duck sprite has 1 frame and when the player ducks, it will not allow for any more movement of any kind and is frozen.
The only way to unfreeze is to use the Guard command, bizarrely.
I wanted to post an image of the sprite lock and flickering but it is impossible to do, hope someone can help...
Otherwise I will be stuck making a platform game without platforms  :'(
