2 player co-op SPLIT SCREEN!!!
« on: May 16, 2018, 11:11:08 PM »

Do you know what PB needs? A feature for a split screen! Just think of all of the new things you could do! It would be really amazing. I only hope that Ting Thing adds this to Platform Builder!!!

I totally agree with you. It is also very difficult to make a difficult game which also have 2 players if no split screen because it is difficult to test 2 players if no allies.

Unfortunately, I think there may be some kind of problem for Ting_Thing I think... Making split screen is probably very complicated because there are no feature in Game Maker for changing room for the view area but a screen. So it probably needs a lot of inventing about how to make the system for this... May need to modify whole application for this.  :-\

Yeah, but maybe there is a tutorial for this online for this feature for game maker. This may not be possible, but It's worth thinking about.

I have developed my own systems at the beginning too and I know that it is not so simple that you watch tutorials and will do the same. Game Maker simply don't have any direct way to share different rooms on the screen at the same time and internet includes only those things that people are sharing. Some things cannot be found or isn't that simple to find. In addition example files may not that easy to merge with your own data file.
Of course a lot of things can be invented somehow but let's see what Ting_Thing have say about this case.  ::)

Wait, I think we're thinking of  2 different things. What I meant is 2 characters starting in the same area. And if one player goes away from the other, the screen splits and follows two characters. I didn't mean one character In one area and the other in another.

Well, I think you would have to choose. Like choosing for the course to just be over and go to the world map. Or choosing that both players have to get to the goal for the course to be over.

Yeah. That would be one solution and I think not that difficult for Ting_Thing to create. :)
