HOW CAN I MAKE BIG ENEMIES ?
« on: August 18, 2018, 11:07:52 AM »
Hi, I made this sprite but I don't know how to set it.

Extra enemies spritesheets have 3 big enemies sprites but I don't know how to use a big enemy sprite.
I want to use this sprite for the boss 1 of my game, Matt's Adventure.
Someone can help me ?

Go to game setup, sprite sheets, then find extra enemy sheets. Click template, and name the image file. Open the file in a photo editing software, copy and paste the enemy into one of the joined squares for one frame, then the other animation fram into the other box. So, you're somewhat of a graphic artist too? ASM is mostly custom sprites I made. So, I've gotten some experience with PB sprites and drawing.

Go back to Sprites in Game Setup and import that sprite sheet.

After you import that sprite sheet, you will be able to find the sprite in the enemy editor. Your sprite will be under "Platform Builder Extra Enemy Sprite Sheet" You will have to click through all of the smaller enemies first.

Here is how it happened.
I select the first enemy of the extra enemy spritesheet 1, I click, it select directly the FIRST ENEMY OF THE EXTRA ENEMY SPRITESHEET 2 !!!
I click again, it select the first enemy of the extra enemy spritesheet 3.
I click again, it select the ... *drum roll* GRUPPY SPRITE !!!
No, seriously, it doesn't works.

Did you import the sprite sheet?

Don't click on "(Extra 1)" Unless you want to change the category to "Extra 2" or "Extra 3." Click on the word "Sprite" to browse through all of the sprites for "Extra 1." It won't look like anything is happening until you click it about 15 times, because the first sprites are all the same, unless you chance them.

It's not a problem! It would be good for me to make it more intuitive as well.

Nobody is an idiot. I've had issues before, and sometimes I don't get it for awhile until someone explains it in detail. In this forum, nobody is considered an idiot.

I like that kind of talk, Christian Game Maker and Ting_Thing answer is understanding and encouraging as well. :) I even have wanted to make my own forum with my own rules although I usually end up with no audience but I even can say that it does not matter because I am already here.

Your forum is nice, but since nobody is there but you and me, there isn't much to do. Since we already talk here, there isn't really a point using your forum. I'm not trying to put you down or anything, I'm just explaining why I think your forum has no audience and why I don't post there...

Oh, I didn't talk about that site actually. A forum about what I was writing was made before I registered here, maybe even before Platform Builder was first time visible on somewhere. And I have no problems with you so don't worry! :) Also, I appreciate that you explained just in case. It would be really pointless making talk between 2 people in the forums which is also right. :D

This forum was about creation like this one but otherwise, it was creation view everything toolkits, programming, even graphics etc. Although the forum was allowed for people from everywhere I tried to find some allies for my activities from my own country.
Of course, my country is also small but attempts to find people from other countries haven't been successful as well.
