How I can make an standalone?
« on: March 25, 2018, 10:48:56 AM »
I searched for the standalone maker in the PB facebook page, but I don't find it.
Can I make an standalone game with PB and how?
Sorry because my English is not very good because I'm Spanish ;) :P

I'll answer this instead of Ting Thing unless I missed something.
If you have read the features page on theplatformbuilder.com it says that If you want to make a standalone please contact us. I just so happened to ask Ting Thing yesterday to do this for a demo of world 1 of my game called The adventures of super mike, and said that he was too busy with updating the program to 4.2. He said that he can do it after the update. So wait until then. (By the way world 1 isn't quite finished).

Oh and I will point out one thing that PB (platform builder) used to have something called Platform Builder Player before the explore section. You couldn't do an exe, I asked the same question by the way, on the old forums.

So, the idea is basically that to make the standalone, I must wait to the 4.2 update, and contact him or simply is not avaliable anymore?

Yes, the Platform Builder Player used to be on Facebook, but it has been discontinued... where did you hear that you could download it from Facebook? If that information came from Platform Builder or some other source  of mine, it should have been removed.

Yes xD
Also I want to ask:
Are you planning to make an standalone maker or something like that in a future?

The reason I had to drop the BP player was because some of the music and backgrounds in there are only licensed to be used for a single project. So it's okay to have all of the games internal to Platform Builder in the explore section, but not in extra projects.

For those who wish to have a stand alone version of their game from Platform Builder, we will need to go through the resources used and make any necessary adjustments.
