About this Board
« on: June 03, 2019, 03:04:38 AM »
Hello everyone, this is TingThing, developer of Platform Builder and the Ultimate Platformer Engine.

This forum board is designed to be a place where you can post questions about using the Ultimate Platformer Engine. For more general discussion, go here. For reporting bugs/errors, go here. Registration for these forums is pretty easy, but if you're that kind of guy who hates registering for another thing, then you can email me instead of posting here.

Best,
TingThing

Okay, this is sortof UPE related, but will you create a changelog board for the UPE? I ask because I noticed that you changed the change log name from "Change Log" to "Platform Builder Changelog"

Quick Question, if you use both the UPE, and PB PRO, how to you export your game to PBX? Will there be a video on this?

Exporting to PBX is the same as always. You do it from the game selection screen in Platform Builder.

You cannot export to PBX from the UPE. Instead, you would need to export the game via Game Maker, and it can be imported by anyone else who owns Game Maker.

Now I'm confused. I thought you could use both PB, and the UPE. So, you can't transfer files from PB to the UPE and vice versa?

Platform Builder allows you to export your game package in two different kinds of ways

1) Export to pbx, for importing back into Platform Builder
2) Export for importing into the UPE.

The UPE cannot export to pbx. You can compile your games with the UPE to a stand alone exe installer or a .zip file, or you can export your game maker source files  to be imported into other game maker projects, but you can't export .pbx files with the UPE.

In other words, your Platform Builder games can be brought into the UPE, but your UPE games cannot be brought into Platform Builder.

Oh. I wish I had known that. That kind of makes me rethink the UPE.
