It's nice to see another member! Hope you have a great time around here  :)

how big are N64 games anyway?
I think they range anywhere from 4 MB to 64 MB. Most are 8 MB to 16 MB, others are around 32 MB, like Majora's Mask.

Of course, there are bigger games, with Conker's Bad Fur Day, Resident Evil 2 and Pokémon Stadium 2 being the only 64 MB games (In the West, at least.)

Mario 64 make 8mb compressed and OOT make 64mb.
Vanilla Mario 64 is 8 MB, but OOT is around 32 MB.

This is looking great! I made a project with very similar gameplay a while back, but yours is looking way better!

man, you can't do rebrands like this unannounced.
what's up?

Heh, yeah. I thought I'd update my old look to my actual current one that's across the internet instead of my old one which was just made for these forums. I don't know why I did that originally. I've been working on my game and, believe me, that pipe level is complete and will be released eventually :P I've been trying out other stuff in PB first though.

The Epicz! What's up? You've been gone for ages! You just up-n-left. You've got to PM me on steam dude.

Done.  ;)

for like a day or two

Any news from Adventure Journey Origins ?

Demo 2 out eventually, but I'm currently trying to make a much, much smaller game that I can focus on more and complete. I'm tired of not finishing projects.

Sorry to deviate from the topic, you lot.

Announcements / Re: Announcing the Ultimate Platformer Engine
« on: January 11, 2019, 06:34:25 PM »

The UPE contains the code to run your PB games. If you change that code you could change how your PB games are run.

Take your pounce move for example. You could create a game in PB that uses ground pounds. But when you import that game into the UPE, you could change how ground pounds work so that the character moves forward during a ground pound.

Here's another example. In Platform Builder, you could write a command that says "turbo = true." This wouldn't do anything in Platform Builder because there is no "turbo" command. But you could important that game into the UPE and add a turbo command to the code for the command prompt, and make that command do something.

None of that changes Platform Builder. It just changes the code which will run your game. I am the only who has the full code for Platform Builder and the ability to modify Platform Builder and the ability to update Platform Builder on Steam and other websites.

Does that still mean we can interact with UPE's code, and add anything we can make in Game Maker to it? e.g. Creating a boss fight that is made with entirely original code (nothing used from PB/UPE) which can still hurt and interact with the player, or stages that change their direction of gravity mid-way, or adding more background layers than normal PB can have, or making new effects like complex lighting and motion blur.

Woah. I am actually amazed. Especially because I own GameMaker Studio 2. I know that I've said I was learning it in a much older post but I sadly haven't used it in a long while. This, though, is definitely going to bring me back to learning it. This opens up infinite possibilities. You can literally do anything with the PB engine. I'm super excited about this, I'll definitely be getting it. I will still use PB though, just as much as I do now.

Thank you very much, TingThing, for sharing the source code of your amazing engine. And, thank you for adding the feature to export to an executable with this. This really could be big.

Wow. I had no idea PB could make lighting effects could look that great.

The second information Update will be out much later today. I've got some footage and screenshots of both upcoming stages ready because they're nearly complete! I have a feeling Demo 2 will release much sooner than expected!   ;D

If you believe that your system will work and you have an imagination about how to use features from PB to realize it then your system probably will work sooner or later. ;) I have learned it by making Invasion: Going Personal. Just keep building just one project and don't stop before you will fill your goal! O:-)  Platform Builder is powerful enough to realize everything from what we have an imagination already long time ago and now especially because it is simple and clear to see everything through.

Thank you for your support and advice, Alley!

Sony Vegas is still very hard for me. Being true, in Camtasia 9 I can do great things I think, in other programs I can't even do a PowerPoint-like video

That's ok! Camtasia is great and I'm sure you can do great things with it! You don't always need complex software to do amazing things  :)

I use Power-Director 14 Ultimate. It's great!

Yeah! I think it's great too. I have 16 Ultimate, but they're quite similar. Wish it had free updates for newer versions though because they release often.
