UPE Progress Update 4
« on: March 25, 2019, 01:59:35 AM »
Hi everyone! Happy Sunday!

So, I've been running tests on the Ultimate Platformer Engine, and things are coming together! In fact, a lot of it is done and ready, but I still need time to give it a good launch. The plan is to have this thing released on the Yoyogames Marketplace April 20th. This should give enough time for several things:

  • Wrap it up! Have a good product for the initial release.
  • Create a Video Trailer for the UPE.
  • Create a tutorial for the UPE (I bought a nice new Lavaliere Mic that I'm excited to use!)
  • Create a small update for Platform Builder to assure that it works well with the UPE.
There's still a lot of work ahead, but I'm pushing for this release date! After that I will be able to relax some and get back into the rhythm of managing Platform Builder. Thanks for your patience everyone, we are almost there!

Yay! I still want some things in PB to use, and not have to program into the UPE. EG, a command to spawn the character on enemies, and vice versa. So, I'm excited about you getting back to work on PB! Also, I've remixed the PB theme song, and it sounds incredible! I just have to add that trumpet.  (Musical notes) G G G E C E G Bflat Bflat A. Recognize that Ting? Here's a hint: It's in the section of the song where the trumpet echo's. And it's in the key of C. Oh, and I hope that lavaliere mic works out, I would be quite interested in where you got it from. I might get one myself. I did read online that they aren't good mics, but who knows, they might be very good! One last thing, you might wanna use my re-mix of the theme for your next trailer! (One problem though, getting a professional mic...)

Lavaliere Mics are very common for video interviews and informational stuff. They are used on an amateur level and also professionally. They range from about $20-$500, maybe even more. You get what you pay for, but even a cheap Lav mic will work fine for most purposes, especially if you live in a quiet environment.

I did research on https://www.bhphotovideo.com/, and ended up purchasing a Sony ECM-44 Omni-Directional Electret Condenser Wired Lavalier Microphone from Amazon. But with that particular Mic, you need an XLR input (or a converter, I suppose). Many other Lav Mics are the 3.5mm connector made to work with a smartphone.

Ah. I just heard that they were cheap mics. You did answer that, but what about the musical question?

Yeah, I think I recognize the part of the piece you are talking about.

Oh, and when you release that small update for platform builder, may you PLEASE at least attempt to include 2 commands? One to spawn the character on an enemy, and vice versa. And yes, you don't have to do the ID thing. I've got big plans for these commands.

I was wondering about something...
Which time will take to export a full Platform Builder game with the UPE?
Sorry because my English is not very good because I'm Spanish ;) :P

With the UPE and your Game Package, it will only take minutes.

Great! I had a feeling it wouldn't take long.
